Birchcliff neighborhood is a family oriented one in Scarborough Bluffs. This is one of the most coveted areas because it is close to the lake, located in the Eastern part of Toronto, Canada. Birchcliff further consists of Fallingbrook and Birchcliff Heights. The areas close to the lake have winding streets within nicely built mid-century homes. Bordering Cliffside in the west is the Kennedy Road, to the north is St. Clair avenue East, to the east is the Brimley road and finally to the south are the Bluffs. The name Birchcliff was originated in 1895 when the area was developed as a home of Toronto Hunt Club. This was the first place in Scarborough to develop as a suburb in the 1920s.

Recreations areas in Birchcliff include the Birchmount Park Community Centre, Leisure pool, Stadium and Arena. The Park has sports fields. Along Kingston Road also is the Taylor Memorial Library. A famous National Historic Civil Engineering site in the area is the Harris filtration Plant, an art deco edifice.
There are five public schools and one catholic school in the neighborhood. The bus transport connects passengers between Bloor-Danforth subway line and the Danforth Road.
Many of the homes consist of second storey, bungalows, detached, Edwardian and Cape Cod designs. The two storey houses feature Tudor. Most of the housing dates back to 1910s to 1950s. There are also modern homes built in the 1980s though to the 1990s.
