This neighbourhood is also referred to as Seven Oaks and is the sunrise side of Scarborough. It is bordered to the North by Highway 401 and to the east by Morningside Avenue. Bordering the south is the Lawrence Avenue and Highland Creek while to the west is the Club Road. Homes in this region consist of single detached ones and high rise buildings. To the north of Morningside is Malvern to the south West Hill, to the east is highland Creek and to the west Woburn. It has a population of about 11,472. The area is characterized by floodplains, creek and valleys.
Homes in Morningside are a mixture of both old homes and new ones. Old homes are located in the Oakmeadow, Military train and Keeler. The newer homes on the other hand are located along Cindy Nicholas. These homes are bungalows, detach and semi detach houses and townhouses. Others are mostly two storeys with backsplits. For those who love condos, these are also found especially along Military Trail. Most of the people own their houses as they are tagged cheaper.
The Highway 401 can easily be accessed from the neighbourhood. The hospital facility used in the neighbourhood is the Rouge Hospital. Other facilities that make it a great neighbourhood is the Centennial College and the University of Toronto as well as the public library present. Recreational facilities include the Morningside Park which has a trail where people can spend their quiet time.
Schools in Morningside are the Brooks Road Public, Military Trail Public school and Highcastle Primary school. Secondary schools include the pope John Paul II Catholic School and St. Edmund Campion.
