Rouge Hill is located between Metro Toronto Zoo and Rouge River Valley. This neighborhood has natural beauty with affordable housing and accessibility to parks, schools and the shopping centre. Rouge hill was initially a farming community up to the 1950s when the highway 401 was constructed across the southern part. Once the highway was built, the first homes were constructed along the Sheppard Avenue in the 1960s. Later, most of the development happened in the 1970s and 1980s when residential subdivisions were added. Further urbanization has continued through the 1990s with more residential blocks, parks and shopping centre as well as a recreation centre.

The schools in Rouge Hill include Chief Dan George, Rouge Valley and john G. Diefenbaker. Bus transportation in Rouge Hill neighborhood connects Sheppard Avenue and Sheppard Station.
